Fine wavy channels run top to bottom, and a row of overlapping circles is stitched across them, so the velvet rises and dips in a soft, graphic relief.

At a glance

Velvet face, channel-quilted with overlapping circles

Square 19.7 x 19.7 in or long lumbar 19.7 x 35.4 in

Three colors: dusty rose, smoke and teal

One cover per order

Insert not included

Design notes

Velvet changes with the light, and quilting gives it more to change with. Each stitched line pulls the pile in, so the circles show as shadows when a lamp is beside the sofa and soften in flat daylight. Dusty rose is a muted, warm pink; smoke is a cool grey with a violet cast; teal is a deep blue-green that reads darker in the evening. The long lumbar is made for a bed: one stretched in front of the sleeping pillows does the work of two small cushions. The long lumbar is 19.7 x 35.4 in (50 x 90 cm), about the size of a king bed pillow, and suits a 20 x 36 in insert. Velvet pile can crush, so spot clean where you can. If it needs a wash, turn it inside out, use a cold, gentle cycle in a laundry bag and air dry, then smooth the pile with your hand.
