The shape is a full, low globe with a short neck, close to a traditional moon jar, sized for a console or a deep shelf.

At a glance

One ceramic vase with a colored glaze

Charcoal body with a cream brushstroke pattern

Horizontal dab or vertical feather: 8.6 in tall and wide

Slanted dash: 10.9 in tall, 9.8 in wide

Openings of 3.6 in or 4.3 in

For dried or faux stems only

Design notes

There are three patterns. Horizontal dab lays bold, rounded strokes in rows around the body; vertical feather runs long, fine strokes from neck to foot; slanted dash, the larger size, wraps the globe in small strokes on a diagonal. Under a warm lamp the cream marks lift off the dark ground, and the round body throws a soft shadow onto the wall behind it. One alone holds a few dried branches; two patterns side by side make a quiet pair.
