A round gourd of dark, mirror-bright glass sits low on a gold-tone foot, and a long tapered neck carries a plain white drum shade.

At a glance

Smoked glass gourd body with a mirrored sheen

Gold-tone tapered neck, collar and round foot

White drum shade with a gold-tone finial

Turn-knob socket

15 in wide and 29 in tall, 5.7 lb

Shade attaches at home; made in India

Design notes

The proportions are classic: a heavy, rounded body at the bottom and a long, narrow neck that lifts the shade well clear of the table. The smoked glass picks up reflections from the room, so it looks different by day and by lamplight. The white drum keeps the top calm. It is one of the taller pieces in our table lamps.

Size & fit

At 29 inches tall and 15 inches across, it suits a console behind a sofa, a sideboard, an entry table or a large nightstand in a primary bedroom. On a standard 24 inch nightstand it will feel tall and dramatic; on a 30 inch console it sits in proportion.

Materials & care

The body is glass; the neck, collar and foot are gold-tone; the shade is a white drum. Wipe the glass with a soft cloth and a little glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth. Dust the gold-tone parts with a dry cloth and avoid abrasives. Use a lint roller on the shade.

Good to know

Does it need assembly? Only the shade.
