A twisted rope handle on each side makes it easy to lift from the windowsill to the table, and the braided weave picks up low evening light along every ridge.

At a glance

Woven seagrass with a twisted rope handle on each side

Brown stitched tag where each handle meets the rim

Small: 6.7 in across the top, 9.1 in tall without handles

Large: 8.3 in across the top, 9.8 in tall without handles

Whitewashed sand or caramel brown

Caramel also comes as a set of two, one small and one large

Design notes

The shape is a simple bucket with softly rounded sides, woven in a tight braid. The sand finish is whitewashed, so the natural seagrass shows through a pale wash; the caramel finish is a warm golden brown. Both carry the same rope handles and stitched tags. Set one beside a reading chair with a trailing plant, or group the two sizes on a console or a sunny sill. Heights do not include the handles. The small basket should take a nursery pot about 6 in wide, and the large one a pot about 7 in wide. Allow about half an inch of variation from piece to piece, as with any woven natural fiber.

Materials & care

Woven from seagrass, with twisted rope handles. Seagrass is not waterproof, so set a saucer or a plastic liner inside before adding a live plant, and empty any spills right away. Dust with a soft dry brush, spot clean with a barely damp cloth and let it dry in open air. Keep it away from open flame.

Good to know

Is anything inside included? No. Only the basket ships.
