About Birch & Brass

Hi — I'm Zain Farooqi, and Birch & Brass is mine.

I grew up in Highlands Ranch, spent time in Boulder, and a stretch in Denver. Colorado is the whole reference point for this store. It's a place where the light does half the decorating for you, where warm wood and brass and linen look right against the mountains, and where nobody is trying very hard to impress anybody. That's the feeling I'm building toward: rooms that feel collected rather than decorated.

I'm an aspiring entrepreneur, and I'll be straight with you — Birch & Brass is new. I'm not going to invent a heritage story or a design studio that doesn't exist. What I can tell you is that I started this because of a gap I kept running into myself: on one side, showrooms charging a premium mostly for the name on the tag. On the other, endless pages of generic product with no point of view at all. I wanted a place in the middle — warm, considered, genuinely affordable.

What I believe

A home should feel gathered over time, not ordered in one click. I go through every piece in this catalog by hand: lighting with real presence, textures you can read from across the room, and a warm, earthy palette where things actually work together. If a piece wouldn't earn a spot in my own place, it doesn't make the catalog. Plenty of things don't.

What I look for

Pieces that read rich in real light — brass-finish metals, glass, natural linen and cotton, warm woods, woven rattan. What something is made of is listed right on its product page under Materials & Use, next to true-to-piece dimensions, so you know exactly what's arriving before it does. If I don't know a measurement, I don't guess at it.

How the prices stay reasonable

There's no showroom, no warehouse of my own, and no markup paying for either. I curate the collection and orders ship directly from our manufacturing partners' facilities, packed and tracked. Birch & Brass LLC stays responsible for your order the whole way through — delivery, returns, and any problem in between comes back to me. Shipping is complimentary over $250, most orders arrive within 4–9 business days, and everything is backed by 30-day returns with free return shipping in the U.S.
