Dark clay, pale marks: this round brushstroke ceramic vase sets cream strokes against a charcoal body, and the contrast is the whole point. The shape is a full, low globe with a short neck, close to a traditional moon jar, sized for a console or a deep shelf.
At a glance
- One ceramic vase with a colored glaze
- Charcoal body with a cream brushstroke pattern
- Horizontal dab or vertical feather: 8.6 in tall and wide
- Slanted dash: 10.9 in tall, 9.8 in wide
- Openings of 3.6 in or 4.3 in
- For dried or faux stems only
Design notes
There are three patterns. Horizontal dab lays bold, rounded strokes in rows around the body; vertical feather runs long, fine strokes from neck to foot; slanted dash, the larger size, wraps the globe in small strokes on a diagonal. Under a warm lamp the cream marks lift off the dark ground, and the round body throws a soft shadow onto the wall behind it. One alone holds a few dried branches; two patterns side by side make a quiet pair. Explore more in our vase collection.
Size & fit
Horizontal dab and vertical feather are each 8.6 in tall and 8.6 in wide, with a 3.6 in opening, about 2.2 lb. Slanted dash is 10.9 in tall and 9.8 in wide, with a 4.3 in opening, about 3.3 lb. The wide mouths suit a generous bunch of dried grasses or a few sculptural branches.
