The beads hang in long, uneven strands from a domed crown, so the lower edge looks like falling water rather than a hard line. Lit, the light breaks into small glints across the wall; switched off, the gold stem and dark base keep it from feeling too sweet. Warm-white bulbs suit it best in the evening. The lamp stands 63 in tall as pictured, and the stem adjusts between about 47.2 and 65 in, so it can sit beside a bed, behind a reading chair or in a living room corner. The shade is 15.7 in across and the base 14 in, so allow about 16 in of floor space.
The frame and stem are iron with a gold finish, the base has a marble-look finish and the shade is strung with clear crystal beads. Dust the beads with a soft brush or a hair dryer on a cool setting, and wipe the stem with a dry cloth. Switch it off and let the bulbs cool before cleaning.
Are bulbs included? No. It takes three E12 candelabra bulbs of 12 to 40 W each. LED bulbs run cooler beside the beads.
How do I turn it on? With the foot switch on the cord, so there is no need to reach into the shade.
