At dusk, two milky white glass globes come on at different heights and fill a corner with soft, even light; that is the whole job of this twin globe floor lamp. A slim gold-tone steel pole carries them 65 in up, one offset to each side, and a foot switch on the cord means no bending to reach it.

The globes sit on short arms facing opposite ways, so light spreads in two directions instead of pooling in one spot. The milky glass hides the bulb and turns it into a soft glow, the kind of light that suits the last hours of the evening better than a ceiling fixture. Overall the lamp is 65 in tall, 15.25 in wide and 11 in deep. The round base is 11 in across and 1.5 in high and takes little floor space, so it fits beside a loveseat, a bed or the end of a dining table. Each of the four pole sections is 0.75 in thick and 16 in long.
