Why do hotel rooms feel so composed at night? Usually it is the bedside lamp — scaled right, shaded wide, throwing warm light exactly where it is wanted. The Metro nightstand table lamp borrows that trick: a gold metal base under a broad drum shade, gold outside and white within, so its glow lands balanced and generous.

Design notes
Gold works hardest in small doses, and a lamp is the classic dose: enough shine to lift a wood nightstand or a stone-topped console, not so much that the room turns glossy. The white shade interior keeps the light neutral rather than yellow, which matters if you read in bed. It belongs with the rest of our table lamps if you are pairing bedsides or balancing a console.
Size & fit
At 17 inches tall with a 12-inch footprint, it is scaled for a nightstand, side table, or entry console — tall enough to light a book, low enough to stay under art hung above. The 70.86-inch cord reaches outlets that never seem to be where the furniture is.
Materials & care
The base is gold-finished metal; the drum shade is gold-toned outside with a white interior. Dust both with a soft, dry cloth and keep liquids away from the metal finish.
