A plinth is the simplest table there is, and that is the appeal: no legs, no hardware, just a clean column that reads like stone from across the room. The 11.8 in square top fits gaps a standard end table cannot, between a sofa and a wall or beside a chair in a reading corner. At 19.6 in high it sits close to most sofa arms. Choose a lamp base no wider than the top, around 8 to 10 in, so it stands with room to spare.
The table is MDF finished with a black marble-texture surface film, not natural stone, so it is far lighter than marble at 16.8 lb. Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth and dry it; avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, which can scuff the film. Use a coaster under wet glasses and lift the table when you move it.
Is it real marble? No. It is MDF with a marble-look finish, which keeps it light and easy to move.
