At night the phone goes on charge inside the shelf, the book goes on top and the drawer takes everything else: this mid-century nightstand is built around that routine. A walnut wood-grain finish, two raised arched panels across the drawer front and four tapered solid wood legs give it a mid-century outline, with outlets where a bedside needs them now.
At a glance
- Walnut wood-grain finish over an MDF body
- Solid wood frame and four tapered solid wood legs
- One drawer with two raised arched panels on the front
- Open shelf with a built-in power strip: two outlets and two USB ports
- Half-moon cutout and cord hole in the back panel for tidy cables
- 22.75 in W × 15.75 in D × 25.4 in H; 36.2 lb
Design notes
The arched panels are the detail that carries the piece. They sit proud of the drawer front and catch side light from a lamp, so the front reads as carved rather than flat. The open shelf keeps a charger, a clock and a lamp cord within reach without crowding the top, and the cutout in the back lets cables pass straight to the wall. Size & fit
At 25.4 inches tall, the top sits close to the height of most standard mattresses. The open shelf is 21.5 inches wide, 14.2 inches deep and 8.5 inches high, roomy enough for a stack of books or a low basket. The legs lift the body 7.3 inches off the floor, which keeps the look light and leaves room to clean underneath.
Materials & care
The body is MDF with a walnut-tone wood-grain finish, on a solid wood frame and solid wood legs. Wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth and a little water, then dry it. Keep the power strip dry and do not overload it. Assembly is required; screws, tools and instructions are included.
