A circle laid over stripes is the whole idea of this quilted velvet pillow cover. Fine wavy channels run top to bottom, and a row of overlapping circles is stitched across them, so the velvet rises and dips in a soft, graphic relief.
At a glance
Velvet changes with the light, and quilting gives it more to change with. Each stitched line pulls the pile in, so the circles show as shadows when a lamp is beside the sofa and soften in flat daylight. Dusty rose is a muted, warm pink; smoke is a cool grey with a violet cast; teal is a deep blue-green that reads darker in the evening. The square cover is 19.7 x 19.7 in (50 x 50 cm) and suits a 20 x 20 in insert. The long lumbar is 19.7 x 35.4 in (50 x 90 cm), about the size of a king bed pillow, and suits a 20 x 36 in insert. Each order is one cover, with no insert.
The face is velvet, quilted through in wavy vertical channels and overlapping circles. Velvet pile can crush, so spot clean where you can. If it needs a wash, turn it inside out, use a cold, gentle cycle in a laundry bag and air dry, then smooth the pile with your hand. Keep it out of strong direct sun to protect the color.
Is the insert included? No. Each order is one cover only.
Which color is warmest? Dusty rose. Smoke leans cool, and teal deepens toward blue-green under lamplight.
