Run a hand across this velvet pillow cover and the pile rises and falls in small waves, broken every few inches by a thin metallic stripe. Six colors, from white to black, give it range across a sofa, an armchair or the end of a bed.
At a glance
Velvet changes with the light, and the ripples make it change even more: the crests catch a lamp, the troughs fall into shadow. The stripes add a fine line of shine without turning the pillow into a statement. Turn it one way for horizontal stripes, the other for vertical. Mix it with plainer pieces from our throw pillows.
The cover measures 17.7 x 17.7 inches. An 18 x 18 inch insert gives it a full, plump look; a 20 x 20 inch insert makes it firmer. It suits a standard sofa, an accent chair or a bed layered with larger shams.
The face is a plush velvet with pressed ripples and metallic stripes. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. If you wash it, turn it inside out, use a cold, gentle cycle and lay it flat to dry so the ripples keep their shape. Do not iron the front.
Is the insert included? No. This is the cover only.
Are the stripes the same on every color? They are silver on most colors; on the camel cover they read closer to gold, as in the photo.
