At 29 inches tall, this smoked glass table lamp has the height for a console, a sofa table or a large nightstand. A round gourd of dark, mirror-bright glass sits low on a gold-tone foot, and a long tapered neck carries a plain white drum shade.

The proportions are classic: a heavy, rounded body at the bottom and a long, narrow neck that lifts the shade well clear of the table. The smoked glass picks up reflections from the room, so it looks different by day and by lamplight. The white drum keeps the top calm. It is one of the taller pieces in our table lamps.
At 29 inches tall and 15 inches across, it suits a console behind a sofa, a sideboard, an entry table or a large nightstand in a primary bedroom. On a standard 24 inch nightstand it will feel tall and dramatic; on a 30 inch console it sits in proportion.
The body is glass; the neck, collar and foot are gold-tone; the shade is a white drum. Wipe the glass with a soft cloth and a little glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth. Dust the gold-tone parts with a dry cloth and avoid abrasives. Use a lint roller on the shade.
Does it need assembly? Only the shade. It sets onto the frame and is held in place with the finial.
Does the glass look the same in every room? The smoked glass reflects what is around it, so it reads darker in a dim corner and brighter near a window or another lamp.
