Tiers of thin branches step up a single trunk on this faux black olive tree, each tipped with small clusters of oval leaves, so the 7 ft silhouette stays light and open rather than bushy. It gives a room height without bulk.
At a glance
- 7 ft tall (84 in), about 47 in across at the widest branches
- Fabric and plastic leaves in small clusters
- Single bark-textured trunk with tiered branches
- Iron and plastic inner frame
- Black pot, 6 in across and 5 in tall
- About 11 lb; trunk comes apart in sections
Design notes
Despite the name, a black olive is not a fruiting olive; it is a tropical tree grown for its layered, nearly horizontal branches, and this faux version carries no fruit. The leaves sit in rosettes at the branch tips, leaving gaps that let wall color and window light show through, so the tree reads as a drawing more than a mass of green. Pair it with a low armchair and a reading lamp to fill a tall, empty corner. Browse more trees in faux plants.
Size & fit
At 84 in tall and about 47 in across at its widest branches, it needs a corner with room to spread and a ceiling of 8 ft or more. The pot is small, 6 in across and 5 in tall, so it slips inside a decorative planter; the cream planter in two of the photos is not included. It ships in a box 45.3 x 7.3 x 7.3 in.
Materials & care
Leaves are fabric and plastic; the frame inside the trunk and branches is iron and plastic. Wipe dust from the leaves with a dry cloth. No watering, trimming or feeding. Keep it out of hot, direct sun for long periods so the green holds its color.
