The pile is cut in a fine crosshatch, so the surface shifts from matte to a soft sheen as you move around it, and a matching piped edge keeps the outline crisp.

Smoke, rust and charcoal share the same velvety chenille: smoke is a warm grey with a brown cast, rust runs from brick in shadow to burnt orange in daylight, and charcoal reads close to black. Ivory is woven with a looser, nubbier surface, a little like tweed, so it adds a second texture when you mix it in. The square cover is 17.7 x 17.7 in (45 x 45 cm) and the lumbar is 19.7 x 11.8 in (50 x 30 cm). Choose Cover Only if you already own inserts; an 18 x 18 in insert suits the square and a 12 x 20 in insert suits the lumbar. Choose Cover with Insert to receive the cover with a filled insert inside.
The cover is chenille with self-fabric piping. Chenille pile can crush under pressure, so spot clean where you can, wash cold on a gentle cycle inside a laundry bag when you must, and air dry. Smooth the pile with your hand once it is dry.
Is the insert included? Only with the Cover with Insert option. Cover Only ships the cover by itself.
Is the rust closer to red or orange? It depends on the light. In the studio photos it reads brick red; on a sofa in daylight it reads burnt orange.
