Folded or standing, this seagrass belly basket works two ways. Stand it tall with the handles up and it hides a plain nursery pot under a fiddle-leaf fig; fold the top half down over the belly and it becomes a low, wide bowl for a throw, a stack of magazines or a child's soft toys.
At a glance
The belly basket is a familiar form for good reason. The upper half is woven slightly wider than the base, so it reads as a soft bulge when standing and as a rolled collar when folded down. The handles are twisted from the same seagrass, so nothing on it is shiny or hard. Use it as a cover for a grower pot, a bin at the end of the bed, or the place a throw lands at the end of the evening. See more woven pieces in our throws and baskets.
The small basket is 8.7 in across and 7.9 in tall, right for a small houseplant or a bathroom shelf. The medium (10.6 in across, 9.4 in tall) and large (12.6 in across, 11 in tall) cover most tabletop and floor-plant pots, or a folded throw. Heights are measured standing, without the handles. Allow up to about an inch of variation, since seagrass is a natural fiber.
Woven from seagrass, handles included. It is not waterproof, so keep a saucer or liner under a live plant. Wipe with a damp cloth or rinse briefly with clean water, then let it dry fully in open air before refilling. Keep it away from open flame.
Is the plant included? No. Only the basket ships. The plants, throws and props in the photos are styling.
What is in the set of three? One small, one medium and one large basket. They stack inside one another when not in use.
