A woven seagrass plant basket gives a potted fern, a roll of linen napkins or a bundle of dry stems a softer home than a bare nursery pot. A twisted rope handle on each side makes it easy to lift from the windowsill to the table, and the braided weave picks up low evening light along every ridge.
At a glance
The shape is a simple bucket with softly rounded sides, woven in a tight braid. The sand finish is whitewashed, so the natural seagrass shows through a pale wash; the caramel finish is a warm golden brown. Both carry the same rope handles and stitched tags. The small basket measures 6.3 in across the base, 6.7 in across the top and 9.1 in tall; the large measures 7.5 in, 8.3 in and 9.8 in. Heights do not include the handles. The small basket should take a nursery pot about 6 in wide, and the large one a pot about 7 in wide. Allow about half an inch of variation from piece to piece, as with any woven natural fiber.
Woven from seagrass, with twisted rope handles. Seagrass is not waterproof, so set a saucer or a plastic liner inside before adding a live plant, and empty any spills right away. Dust with a soft dry brush, spot clean with a barely damp cloth and let it dry in open air. Keep it away from open flame.
Is anything inside included? No. Only the basket ships. The flowers, driftwood and plants in the photos are styling.
